ITINERARY
Day 1: Cairns – Jowalbinna
Travel north by way of a scenic inland road. Then, by 4WD, track to Jowalbinna bush camp which is situated deep in the outback. Accommodation is in large tents with solid floors and simple furniture. The adjacent bush bathrooms are shared. Evening and early mornings provide the ideal opportunity to observe the wildlife in unique surroundings, highlighted by the changing ambience of dusk and dawn.  Overnight: Jowalbinna Bush Camp. Day 2: Jowalbinna – Hiking/Aboriginal Rock Art
Discover unique Aboriginal art which is located a short distance from your camp. The art sites are acclaimed as being among the best in Australia. Your guide will explain in detail the significance of the artworks seen.  Overnight: Jowalbinna Bush Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Lakefield National Park – Wetlands/Wildlife – Cooktown
Today you will explore the tranquil and beautiful rivers and lagoons of Lakefield in search of crocodiles, dingoes and kangaroos before arriving late in the afternoon at Cooktown.   Overnight: River of Gold. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Cooktown – Cape Tribulation – Mossman
Your final day sees you exploring Grassy Hill Lookout for excellent views of the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding areas. Afterwards, continue south along the 4WD Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation and then on to Cairns. (B, L)

ITINERARY
Day 1: Cairns – Cape Tribulation Safari
Enjoy a day out exploring the rainforest, rivers and beaches of Daintree and Cape Tribulation with a friendly and knowledgeable Aboriginal guide. You will learn about Aboriginal history and will have the opportunity to spot crocodiles, pythons, birds and flying foxes at World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park. Stop at Alexandra Range Lookout to experience the views across the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Heading south from Cape Tribulation you will stop at the Valley of the Palms.

Day 2: Cape Tribulation (half day Bloomfield 4WD tour)
Head north from Cape Tribulation, entering strictly 4WD country, with crystal-clear creek crossings, steep mountain ranges and spectacular views. Enjoy a half day tour exploring the rainforest, rivers and beaches of Cape Tribulation and Bloomfield with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Explore Bloomfield Falls dropping 40 meters over a rugged black rock escarpment, before heading back toward your hotel to meet the transfer back to Cairns arriving at 6.00pm. (B, L)

ITINERARY
Day 1: Cairns – Hiking – Atherton Tablelands
Travel up to the Atherton Tablelands. Spend the day trekking along ancient Aboriginal rainforest trails. Swim in crystal-clear mountain streams and explore the rainforest before reaching camp for the night, at the top of a 50 meter waterfall. After a hot meal snuggle into your sleeping bag and waterproof hammock for a good night’s sleep under a canopy of stars. Overnight: Hammock Camp. (L, D)

Day 2: Atherton Tablelands – Hiking/Waterfalls – Cairns
Set off to explore one of the last unspoiled rainforest areas left on earth. Returning by a different route you will cross mountain streams and pass magnificent waterfalls. At lunch you can swim and relax at the Upper Chucka Lunga crossing, leaving in time to walk out and return to your Cairns accommodation. Overnight: Queens Court. (B, L)

Day 3: Cairns – Wilderness Canoeing/Mulgrave River – Cairns
Discover the tropical rainforest scenery in fun two-person canoes. Relax and see a great variety of birds including kookaburras. You may also see a tortoise, eels, lizards or wallabies. Overnight: Queens Court. (B, L)

Days 4-6: Cairns – Reef and Snorkel – Cairns
Sail on a charming gaff rigged schooner to Thetford Reef, a part of the Great Barrier Reef. The snorkeling is superb and diving is available. Over the 3 days the vessel will sail between Thetford, Moore and Brigg Reefs.  Overnight: The Santa Maria for 2 nights (B, L, D) – Dinner not included on the last night

Note: Scuba diving an optional extra for those who are certified or wish to take an introductory course.

Drive south to the Tully River for a full day of white-water action in 8-person rafts. The river winds its way through the spectacular rainforest scenery. Overnight: Queens Court. (B, L)

Day 4: Cairns – Reef and Snorkel – Cairns
Sail to Paradise Reef and Upolu Cay, a part of the Great Barrier Reef. This is the world’s largest coral reef  system, stretching over 1,300 miles along the north-eastern coast of Australia. The snorkeling is superb and you will return to Cairns in the late afternoon. (B, L)

ITINERARY
Day 1: Cairns – Sea Kayaking – South Barnard Islands (Camping)
Drive south to Kurrimine Beach. The kayaks are then launched for the first leg of the trip which is a 2 hour paddle to Sister Island. Tonight you will camp on the beach of an uninhabited island.
Overnight: South Barnard Islands. (L, D)

Day 2: South Barnard Islands – Sea Kayaking – North Barnard Islands (Camping)
After a hearty breakfast, you will break camp and paddle 2 hours to the Northern Barnard group of islands. Dolphins and turtles inhabit these waters. It is possible to bushwalk through the evergreen rainforests or take the opportunity to visit an historic island lighthouse.  Overnight: North Barnard Islands. (B, L, D)

Day 3: North Barnard Islands – Sea Kayaking – Cairns
A leisurely start before commencing the 3 hour paddle back to the mainland. En route pass close to nearby islands, with the possibility of landing to explore the mysterious caves. Land on the mainland at Cowley Beach where your bus will be waiting to take you back to Cairns. (B, L)

Day 1: Cairns
Arrive in Cairns and transfer to your hotel for your overnight stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Tonight meet your Guide and the rest of the group for an informal get together. Overnight: Palm Royale

Day 2: Cairns – Canoeing – Mulgrave River
Departing Cairns head south to the Mulgrave River. Discover the tropical scenery in fun 2-person canoes. Here the river flows through pristine forest and is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Day 3: Mulgrave River – Mountain Biking – Yungaburra Historic Village – Lake Eacham Travel to the Atherton Tablelands and then continue on by bike through local villages. Passing through a rainforest your route takes you by the crater of Lake Eacham,Yungaburra historic village, Malanda Falls and more. Overnight: Lake Eacham Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 4: Lake Eacham – Mountain Bike Trails/Rainforest – Lake Eacham An early rise provides an opportunity to view the unique and elusive duck-billed platypus. After a hearty breakfast, travel by bike through rainforest trails in tropical Danbulla State Forest.Visit Lake Barrine, a water filled crater of an extinct volcano. Riding time for the day is approximately 5-6 hours of gradual terrain. Late afternoon return to your overnight hotel. Overnight: Lake Eacham Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 5: Lake Eacham – Trekking – Wilderness Camp
Start the day with a hike through the Mt Bartle Frere Rainforest. Here you will walk through lush tropical rainforest, giant trees and waterfalls. After lunch continue to wilderness campsite. Overnight: Wilderness Camp (B, L, D)

Day 6: Wilderness Camp – Mt Bartle Frere – Cairns
Today, trek under a lush tropical canopy in the shadow of Mt Bartle Frere. Here you will experience remote and stunning waterfalls, mountain stream crossings and excellent spots for swimming. In the late afternoon you will be transferred back to Cairns where you will overnight. Overnight: Palm Royale (B, L, D)

Day 7: Cairns – Great Barrier Reef – Cairns
Depart your hotel and transfer to the vessel that will set sail to Paradise Reef and Upolu Cay, a section of the Great Barrier Reef. Late in the afternoon you will return to Cairns. (B, L)
